Chinese New Year Gala
Over the years, the M+ team has created and contributed to major community cultural events across the Greater Toronto Area and Eastern Canada, including multiple Chinese New Year Galas at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre, New Year celebrations in Moncton, and multicultural performances for Asian Heritage Month in Fredericton.
For us, community events are more than performances—they are opportunities to bring arts education into real community life. Through large-scale stages, cultural celebrations, and cross-cultural projects, we create opportunities for young people, families, and community artists to perform, collaborate, lead, and express themselves, building confidence while connecting generations and cultures through the arts.

Over the years, the M+ team has created and participated in a wide range of musical events across Ontario and New Brunswick—from classical and gallery concerts to intimate performances, community concerts, performances for seniors, and interdisciplinary music projects—bringing music into diverse artistic and community settings.
We believe music should extend beyond the classroom and practice room. Through performances at venues such as the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and in community spaces, students have opportunities to step onto real stages, collaborate with artists, engage with audiences, and connect with their communities, building confidence, artistry, and a deeper understanding of music through real-world experience.

Exhibition
We have also been actively involved in curating and presenting visual arts and interdisciplinary exhibitions at professional arts institutions and public cultural spaces, including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Oakville’s Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, Gallery on Queen, and Charlotte Street Arts Centre. Our projects have included Canada–China artist exchanges, youth art exhibitions, and multimedia arts initiatives, engaging a broad range of audiences and communities.
Through exhibitions, we aim to bring arts education beyond the classroom and create meaningful opportunities for young people, emerging creators, and community artists to present their work, experience curatorial practice, and engage with the public. We want their creative voices to be seen, discussed, and valued, while helping them build confidence and develop their own artistic expression through real-world arts experiences.

International Events
We actively promote international arts and cultural exchange, creating connections between local artists, young creators, and cultural resources from different countries and regions. Our team has developed and participated in a range of international cultural exchange initiatives, including a major fashion and cultural event in collaboration with China’s Huayi Brothers, exchange visits between Ballet Atlantic Canada and educational institutions in China, as well as art exhibitions, stage performances, and youth arts exchange projects.
Through these experiences, we hope to create more opportunities for young people and artists to experience different cultures, broaden their global perspectives, exchange creative ideas, and create together—using the arts as a bridge between our local communities and the wider world.

We believe the arts should be part of everyday community life. Over the years, we have created welcoming, high-quality community music and arts experiences, giving students, families, and local audiences opportunities to engage closely with professional artists and live performance.
For example, in collaboration with Yamaha Canada, we welcomed professional musicians from the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra and the Canadian Opera Company, bringing intimate musical experiences directly into the community. Through programs like these, we hope the arts can extend beyond concert halls and theatres to create meaningful connections between artists, students, families, and the community.
06 Community Storytelling
We have long used film, photography, interviews, and digital storytelling to document our communities and share stories of life and cultural experience in Canada. From the multimedia exhibition Immigrant Memories and the visual project Fall in Love with Canada to We From Asia, produced in 2025 for an Asian cultural organization in New Brunswick, our work brings everyday experiences into stories that can be seen, heard, and remembered.
Our current project, Voices Across Generations—funded by the Government of Canada, led by the Mississauga Chinese Arts Organization, and developed and implemented by Charles Pan—continues this practice through senior interviews, youth participation, and digital storytelling, preserving community memories while creating meaningful connections across generations.
